The practical knowledge, business skills and work experience gained while at Big Bale complements the student’s academic learning and gives the student an introduction into the Agricultural Engineering Industry.
Each student upon their return to university, completes a dissertation as part of their degree course. After discussion all of the students to date have chosen a project that is specific to Big Bale. We are constantly impressed with the professional approach with which the students undertake their dissertation; the conclusion of their project is invariably incorporated into our business.
Agricultural Engineering at Harper Adams University has enjoyed a long and productive association with Big Bale South. BBS has supported our student engineers providing them with a valuable and inspiring industry placement, a number of whom have later made a career with the company.
Big bale South has also supported students by offering a number of final year degree and masters level projects. The Department of Engineering, National Centre for Precision Farming (NCPF) and BBS collaborated on an Innovate UK funded project developing the Transtacker automated bale loading system.
